Reduce stimulation and new risk.

Stop using cannabis, move to a calm familiar place, and involve a trusted sober adult. Sit or lie somewhere safe, loosen restrictive clothing, and sip water if comfortable. Avoid alcohol, additional cannabis, caffeine, or unverified remedies. Keep the product package so its ingredients and serving information are available.

Do not leave a very distressed or confused person alone and do not let them drive.

Use Poison Control for specific guidance.

In the United States, Poison Control is available at 1-800-222-1222. The specialist will ask about the product, amount, time, age, weight, symptoms, and other substances. Honest details help them assess the situation. For a child or pet exposure, call promptly even when symptoms are not yet obvious.

Contact a veterinarian for pets.

Recognize an emergency.

Trouble breathing, loss of consciousness, seizure, chest pain, serious injury, or inability to wake someone requires 911. Follow dispatcher instructions. Do not drive while impaired to reach care. If the person vomits while very drowsy, protect the airway and place them on their side when safe to do so.

After recovery, review what led to the event: serving confusion, early redosing, mixing substances, unfamiliar potency, or unsecured storage. Change the plan before any future use.
