Privacy policy

The age cookie

When you tap "Yes, I am 21 or older" on the door, this site stores a cookie named bs_age_ok with the value 1. It lasts 30 days, is scoped to this domain, and is sent only to this site. It records that the affirmation happened. It does not contain your age, your date of birth, your name or any identifier, because none of those are collected.

You can delete it at any time in your browser settings. Deleting it means the door appears again on your next visit, which is the only consequence.

It is the only cookie this store sets. Google Analytics sets cookies of its own, described in the next section, and Dutchie sets its own on the menu page.

Google Analytics

This site uses Google Analytics 4, run by Google, to count visits and see which pages people read. It is how the store learns that the menu page is busy on a Saturday, or that nobody can find the directions page. It loads on every page of this site.

What it records is ordinary web measurement: the page you are on, the page or search that sent you, roughly where in the world the request came from, and the kind of device and browser you are using. Google sets its own cookies in your browser to tell one visit apart from the next. It does not receive your name, your address, your date of birth or your age, because this site never asks you for any of them.

Google processes that information under its own terms, and this store cannot see or control what Google does with it beyond the reports it shows us. Google publishes how it handles data from sites that use its services, and it offers a browser add-on that turns Google Analytics off everywhere.

How Google uses information from sites that use its services

The Google Analytics opt-out browser add-on

Your browser’s own controls work too. Blocking third-party scripts or cookies, or turning on a tracking-prevention setting, stops this measurement, and the site works exactly the same way without it. Nothing on this site is withheld from you for blocking it.

What this site does not do

• No advertising or social pixels. Nothing here is used to build an advertising audience or to follow you across other websites.
• No accounts, no logins and no passwords.
• No forms. Nothing on this site asks you to type anything.
• No third-party fonts. The typefaces are served from this site, so loading a page does not announce your visit to a font host.
• No sale of personal information. This store does not sell information about you, and the only data that leaves this site is the Google Analytics measurement described above.

The live menu is somebody else’s software

The menu is published by Dutchie and embedded on the menu page. Dutchie is a separate company running its own software in that frame, and it may set its own cookies and collect its own information under its own privacy policy, which this store does not control. Any order you place, and anything you type while placing it, happens on Dutchie, not here.

The live menu opens on dutchie.com

The door’s "No, I am under 21" button sends you to the New York State Office of Cannabis Management education library. That is a normal link to another website and nothing about you is passed with it.

Server logs

This site is hosted on Vercel, which keeps ordinary web server records of requests, such as the page requested, the time, and the network address the request came from. That is standard infrastructure logging used to serve and secure the site.

In the store

This policy covers this website only. What happens at the counter is separate. Store staff inspect a valid government-issued photo ID before a cannabis purchase. Ask in the store how identification checks and any point-of-sale records are handled.

Changes

If this site starts collecting anything, this page changes at the same time and the date above changes with it.
